Please note:
In order to log on to the JOGU-StINe web portal, you will need a computer or mobile device with an internet connection as well as the username and password of your JGU account.
How do I get a JGU account?
Students
Once you are enrolled, you must activate your JGU account. In order to activate your account, an email will be sent to the email address recorded in your application (usually within 48 hours). This email will include a link to the activation website.
You will use this link to activate your JGU account and create a personal password. Your student username will be sent to you by e-mail.
After signing in for the first time, you must remember your new username and the chosen password. You cannot log in again without this information.
You can sign in to JOGU-StINe, your student email account (under mail.uni-mainz.de), the university Wi-Fi, and other areas/programs of the university.
Please note: With your enrollment, you committed to using and regularly visiting your university email account (@students.uni-mainz.de) during your time at JGU. This is the only way to ensure your receipt of important information from JGU on the organization of your studies or of documents made available online.
You can find information on the activation and management of your university account here: https://www.en-zdv.uni-mainz.de/account.
Staff
Employees usually receive their JGU account when they start work. Information on this can be found on the Data Center’s website (ZDV - Data Center).
Guest researchers, project staff and external users
Guest researchers, project staff and external users can apply for a JGU account under certain conditions. If this applies to you, please also look on the website of the Data Center (ZDV - Data Center).
What do I do if I forget my password?
If you already have a JGU account but have forgotten the password you set, you can reset your password using your user name, your private e-mail address and - for identification purposes - your matriculation or registration number: account.uni-mainz.de/password/init-reset.
If you still have a PUK (Personal Unblocking Key), you can use it to reset your password via account.uni-mainz.de/password/reset.
What do I do if I lose my username or PUK?
If you can’t recall your username, please contact the Data Center’s advice center/hotline: www.en-zdv.uni-mainz.de/hotline/
If you show ID and a current certificate of enrollment, they can let you know what your username is.
You can get a PUK by showing your ID and a current certificate of enrollment in the Central Library (Jakob Welder-Weg 6). For new students who do not have access to their university account or a current certificate of enrollment, a document showing their student ID number is acceptable.
If you are currently unable to pick up your replacement PUK in the Central Library in person, please send an email with the subject “Passwort des Studierenden-Accounts vergessen” (password to student account forgotten) and the following information to hotline@zdv.uni-mainz.de. Please include the following information in the email:
- First and last name, student ID number, birth date, username (if possible)
- Whether or not the account has already been activated/used
- Mailing address (the Data Center can only send out the PUK if the address matches the one on file in JOGU-StINe).
For reasons of data protection, username and PUK cannot be given out on the telephone.
